Following a phone call from my former manager, informing me about an available position within her team and expressing confidence that I would be an ideal fit.
Subsequently, I reached out to the hiring manager, underwent a brief interview process, and swiftly commenced preparations for relocating to the Netherlands.
Mission
Upon joining this highly visible team, which possessed exceptional human and material resources, I brought a much-needed focus. Shortly after my arrival, I initiated efforts to establish a formal portfolio structure that accurately reflects the organization's business strategy and approach.
Concurrently, I collaborated with the finance team to align the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the upcoming year, while also implementing formal portfolio support tools for the functional leads.
Furthermore, I set key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Project Management Office (PMO) that are in line with the business strategy and the previous year's BMC, ensuring continuous tracking and improvement.
As the chairperson of the New Product Initiatives and Change Management Board, I took responsibility for ensuring that the teams were thoroughly prepared for board reviews. This involved conducting preliminary assessments, refining their business case details, aligning their technical input and resource needs with R&D, Q&R, Marketing and business strategy, and enhancing their presentations to ensure an optimal board review process.
Additionally, I oversaw the implementation of mandatory tools derived from the Philips Excellence Center, facilitating a seamless transition of the entire business and ensuring their effective utilization within the teams.
My success Story
Regrettably, my recent deployment in the Netherlands encountered various issues and did not go smoothly. As a result, I have requested the business to retract our position.
On a positive note, I successfully implemented organizational structure and introduced best practices across the areas under my responsibility.
